Using the Digi XBee® PyCharm integrated development environment (IDE) plugin allows developers to significantly decrease complexity and development time in the process of creating edge intelligence on Digi RF-based IoT devices. It can be used to create Python or MicroPython projects from scratch or import one of the many available examples, and build and upload them onto Digi devices with one mouse click. You can then execute programs and observe their output for debugging purposes.

In this video, we introduce the features of the Digi XBee MicroPython PyCharm IDE toolchain, demonstrate several MicroPython examples using a Digi XBee 3 module to showcase XBee RF communication and the hardware interfaces of the module, and show how to add custom code to add new functionality.
